Throughout the year, Total Fitness members and staff participate in a variety of community events and fundraisers. It is important to us to stay active and involved not only within our clubs but in the community outside our doors as well. We could not accomplish this without our enthusiastic and motivated members and staff! If Total Fitness Clubs has made even a small impact on the community as a whole, we feel we have succeeded.

Specialty Class, "Sweat, Dance, & Donate," to Benefit The Dighton Community Food Bank
Saturday, May 21 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Swansea Total Fitness.
This 2-hour super class will be led by 5 of your favorite instructors to benefit you & the Dighton Community Food Bank. Bring a canned good to participate! Open to the public - free of charge!
Each month the Dighton Community Food Bank helps feed 60-70 families.
"Sweat, Dance & Donate" Line-Up:
Train-Your-Trainer Benefit for Pediatric Cancer
A chance for you to "Payback" your Personal Trainer for all the physical "punishment" they've put you through AND help fight Pediatric Cancer.
During the week of May 1-7, for a donation of $10, members/clients of participating locations, will get the opportunity to tell a Personal Trainer to do one set of one exercise. Clients and members are welcome to bring friends and family to this week-long fundraising event.

Pilates Day Benefit Class for Crossroads Rhode Island Women's Shelter- May 7, 2011
Total Fitness in partnership with EVOLUTION Pilates & Nutrition will be holding Pilates Mat classes on International Pilates Day, May 7th, to benefit Crossroads Rhode Island Women's Shelter.
These classes are available to members and non-members at no cost, suggested donation $5.00 for this organization.
The Women's Shelter at Crossroads Rhode Island provides extended stay and case management support for the growing number of homeless women in Rhode Island. Crossroads also has an Emergency Shelter Program so no woman ever needs to sleep in an unsafe place.

A big thank you to our Members, Guests and Instructors!!! The Spring & Shred Ahead Class was a huge success! 28 participants, plus the four instructors, sweated their way through two intense hours of classes. Their generosity also helped to fill two large boxes with donations to benefit the East Bay Food Pantry and the Stone Soup Thrift Shop.
This 2-hour super class will be led by 4 of your favorite instructors to benefit you and Bristol's local food bank, the East Bay Food Pantry. This class is FREE and open to the public - all we ask is that you bring a canned food donation.
Join Bobbi for Rock n’ Roll Kickboxing, Lara for Zumba Hip Hop, Angie for Body Sculpt, and Erin for Tabata Abs. Bring water for yourself and a canned good for the East Bay Food Pantry!

Spin for Hope Thank you to everyone who was involved & “spinned” their hearts out today @ BTF for Spin for Hope. A big thank you to Laura Jenkins! In addition to organizing this event Laura raised over $2,500 and is ranked #6 for top-fundraisers online. TFC as a whole brought in over $13,000 (so far). This has us ranked #8 among all the teams participating in “Spin for Hope” across NE.

Spin for Hope is a three hour indoor cycling event for a great cause - the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. Register as an individual and cycle for the entire three hours, or form a team and take turns cycling. Participants spinning for the full three hours are encouraged to raise a minimum of $300, while participants spinning as part of a team are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 each. Register before February 13 to receive this year's registration gift - a Spin for Hope sports headband!

Get Off Your Can 5K Run/Walk to End Hunger Date: Saturday, June 5, 2010
Total Fitness members, staff, friends, and family partipated in the 2nd Annual Get Off Your Can 5K Fun Run to benefit the East Bay Food Pantry at the Bristol Town Beach Pavilion (Colt State Park). Bring in a bag of non-perishable food to our Seekonk location during the month of June 2010 and receive a month on us!
Get Moving Walk
The 12th Annual Get Moving Walk is a community fundraising event to raise money for the St. Anne's Regional Cancer Care Program. For the past two years, Total Fitness has been the top fundraising team at this event. We raised $6,700 in 2010! All money raised from this 3.5 mile walk goes directly to support St. Anne's Oncology Program!
St. Pat's 5k
Our Total Fitness Team participated in the St. Pat's 5k in Providence, RI. This was a fun, mostly flat 3.1 mile race on the parade route through Providence. The annual St. Pat's 5k raises funds for a variety of charities!

Spin for Hope is a three hour indoor cycling event for a great cause - the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer! Health clubs throughout New England hold this event on the first Sunday every March. In 2010, more than 50 Total Fitness members, staff, friends and family participated in this fundraising event at Bristol Total Fitness; raising over $12,000! Over the past four years Total Fitness Clubs has raised over $60,000 for the American Cancer Society!
Participants spinning for the full three hours are encouraged to raise a minimum of $300, while participants spinning as part of a team are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 each. The details of the registration gift and fundraising incentive for this year are still being worked out, so watch for those details to come soon.

With difficult economic times, holiday gifts may not be in the budget for many families so this Holiday Season Total Fitness Clubs will be collecting toys at all locations for local children in need. TFC will be working with Toys for Tots at their Bristol, RI location and "The Giving Tree" for MA locations - Swansea, Seekonk and Dartmouth.
