General Announcements


 

2nd Annual Meet Our Local Heroes Toy Drive at Bristol Total Fitness

On Saturday, Dec 20th, between 10am - 12pm our local veterans will be collecting toys. Total Fitness members and the public may donate a toy and in return have their picture taken with our heroes. Our very own Andy Calise will be leading the troop! Evolution Registered Dietitians will be providing snacks and refreshments to all who participate.

Bristol Total Fitness is teaming up with Bristol Good Neighbors, to provide toys to benefit our local children. We will start collecting new and unwrapped toys Nov 28th - Dec 23rd. You may drop the toys off in the designated boxes in the foyer. Happy Holidays!

 
Holiday Giving Tree

This season, Total Fitness will be accepting donations in the form of gifts requested by children. If you are able, add 1 more to your shopping list and make this holiday special for a local child in need.

Swansea Total Fitness and Seekonk Total Fitness will be teaming up with Dare Family Services. We will be accepting unwrapped gifts (gift bags are ok) from Dec 1st - Dec 14th.

Dartmouth Total Fitness will be teaming up with New Bedford Child & Family Services. We will be accepting gifts from Dec 1st - Dec 12th.

 

 
Bristol Total Fitness Blood Drive

Bristol Total Fitness is hosting a Blood Drive for the Rhode Island Blood Center. The blood center distributes blood products to hospitals in Rhode Island and Southern New England. Don't forget to bring your drivers license or another form of ID when you donate. For your generous donation, you will receive a FREE Shake.

Mix It Up with Dawn Casella

Break out of the monotony of the circuit by using TRX, cable weights, free weights, gliders and bands. For 6 weeks Dawn will motivate, keep you focused and accountable. The support and comradery from participants will keep you on track toward your fitness goals. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Bundle Up Bootcamp with Adriana Ferns

Get ready to stay on top of your workouts before the holidays! An 8 week bootcamp style training program incorporating weights and interval training. This will be sure to fire up the metabolism, strengthen the immune system, define muscles and create better overall health. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Winter Meltdown with Dawn Casella

Time to shed those winter pounds! This 8 week workshop will provide guidance with fitness and nutrition. Week 1, Dawn will be meeting with each participant to obtain body fat measurements, weigh-ins and discussions about exercise & nutrition. Her program includes, group training circuit workouts that will have multiple levels, so it is suitable for everyone and participants will be given a strict diet based on clean healthy eating. Fitness Challenge Total Fitness for Women with Stacia Abdow

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Stacia Abdow. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from your trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Stacia will provide each participant with written workouts to follow outside training times, nutrition guidance for pre and post workout meals, and biweekly weigh ins and measurements to keep your progress on track. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Rock Your Resolution with Stacia Abdow

Stacia’s Weight Loss Challenge is a 8 week program to keep participants accountable to their New Years Resolutions. The workout will be designed to be High Intensity Interval Training. Lets keep those heart rates up and burn some major calories! (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Train Insane with Lizzie Newton

This group training will take participants on an 8 week journey to accomplish goals during the yummiest part of the year. Measurements will be taken at the beginning, middle and end of this workshop to track personal progress. Participants should expect a high intensity workshop combining traditional weight training with function movements as well as intervals cardio drills. Keeping the body guessing with each workout will make every workout different while targeting all muscle groups. Working as a team with the same goal; to stay fit and get fitter will keep everyone motivated! (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

So You Think You Know Fitness with Jenn Brown

So you think you’ve got this fitness thing down? Then why are you stuck in the same routine with the same old exercises? Why is your eating still off? How do you know if your form is correct if nobody is cueing you? Lucky for you, Personal Fitness Trainer, Jenn Brown is here to help. In the first week, you will have a private consultation with Jenn to discuss the training issues you struggle with and receive a fitness evaluation. The next six weeks, in a group setting, Jenn will review proper form for the exercises you most want to learn. In the last week, Jenn will re-evaluate your fitness level in a final one-on-one evaluation, to measure your results! (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Mobility for Lifters with Chris Raymond

Join Chris for this 8 week program meeting for two half hours sessions each week . Individuals will be assessed for mobility issues that prevent proper range of motions for various areas of the body. These areas when mobile again can improve performance and better quality of life. Such areas are back, hips, and shoulders. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Walt's Weight Loss ChallengeFitness Revival with Dawn Casella

Particpants will undertake a 10 week long program that will combine personalized one on one sessions and specific dietary guidelines for each individual. Along with two group training session a week which will help build comraderie amongst the participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Members that Inspire Us


Robin has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since April 2011. She has always been athletic but fell behind during her college years. Robin met Personal Trainer, Adriana Ferns back in 2011 and has trained with her for 3 years. This year she made a commitment to do a race every month starting in March and ending in November, Robin has kept that promise. In the beginning of November she completed her first Ultra Marathon, a 37.5 mile race! Robin also enjoys high intensity circuit workouts and Leslie's Spin class. Thank you Robin for showing that regardless of how little time you have a workout can always be fit in. Congratulations!

 

Pam Sanford has been a member of Swansea Total Fitness since 2006. Her goal is to stay fit and healthy. Pam has some back and neck issues, by coming to the gym on a regular basis helps keep her back healthy. One of Pam's biggest accomplishments this year is running the CVS 5k race. She started training with her husband Bob, he helps keep the pace and encourages her to improve. Pam and Bob run from their house to the Swansea boat ramp and back, when running up Ocean Grove Avenue, they jokingly call it their “heartbreak hill”. Keep up the good work Pam! You are an inspiration!

 
Darlene Amoroso has been a member of Seekonk Total Fitness since 2012. Having been active her whole life, Darlene’s consistency is what makes her a great member of the month. She has been training with Walter Medeiros for over 2 years focusing on staying fit and getting strong. Darlene also comes in several times a week to do her own workouts that include pull-ups and the stepmill. You wouldn’t believe it, but she has 14 year old twins with her husband Joe. She is a prime example that you can lead a happy, healthy lifestyle and enjoy your weekends.  We’ll see you at the beach next summer looking strong and lean Darlene!
 

Josh and Caitlyn Santos have been members of Dartmouth Total Fitness since February 2013. When asked about their experience at the gym, Josh felt thier success story is staying committed to working out every single week since joining. He says, “All journeys have bumps in the road and it’s important to stay committed.” Caitlyn has lost weight, toned up, has improved her running time and has recently quit smoking. She says, “It’s not about having time, its about making time! Consistency is key! They both enjoy many of the DTF group fitness classes and cannot say enough positive things about all of DTF staff. Congratulations Josh & Caitlyn!
