Silver Sneakers Senior Fitness FREE To Members & Public

These moderate 45-minute exercise classes are intended for seniors who want to remain active and will be taught senior certified fitness instructors. The classes focus on muscle strength, flexibility, strengthening joints, balance and coordination. Classes will use a chair for seated and/or standing support and will incorporate exercises with hand-held weights, elastic tubing for resistance, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Enrollment in the senior exercise classes is simple. Seniors (ages 55+) who wish to participate in will need to bring a form of ID card and for those who are part of the Healthways SilverSneakers® program will be asked to show their Healthways Membership Card.

Time: Tuesday @ 11am - 12pm & Thursday @ 11am - 12pm

Kripula Yoga with Billy McNamara in The Pilates Studio at Total Fitness


Free Community Preview-Tuesday, March 4th @ 9am-9:45am and Thursday, March 6th @ 9am-9:45am. A free Kripula Yoga class for the community. An opportunity to meet Billy and the Kripula style of yoga. See if this is what you have been lookng for!

As an athlete and lacrosse player in college, Billy was first drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, and found the more he practiced, the more in tune he became with his body. As his yoga practice continued, he found that he was not only growing stronger, more flexible, and more aware of the intricacies of his body, but also receiving many health benefits along with clarity and balance in his life.

Billy teaches a style of yoga that encourages exploration of your own body - it is about doing what is right for you and developing increased awareness as your practice deepens. It's meant to be enjoyable and fun - it will work and stretch your muscles and mind, and relax them as well.

If you've enjoyed the free class, sign up for the 6 week workshop where you will receive personalized attention and get the most out of your practice.

Bodacious Bodies with Dawn Casella

This 8 week group training workshop will take you through a progressive workout that teach you exercises that will hit all the spots that we ladies want to focus on. Dawn Casella will show you exercises to help lift, shape and tone your body like you never have before. This program will focus on exercises that sculpt arms, defines legs, back, tighten abs, lift your butt and chest. Sorry fellas this workshop is ladies only.

Total Fitness for Women with Erin Ward 

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Erin Ward. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from you trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Erin will provide each participant with written workouts to follow outside training times, nutrition guidance for pre and post workout meals, and biweekly weigh ins and measurements to keep your progress on track.

Pilates Mix Workshop with Dawn Casella

The session will start off with the classical essential exercises on the reformer then followed by a circuit using equipment like the cadillac, chair, lateral barrel, TRX, gliders and bands. This workshop will help create long lean muscles while improving flexibility and core strength. Previous Pilates reformer experience is required.

Introduction to the Pilates Reformer with Dawn Casella

Join Dawn for a 6 week Introduction to the Pilates Reformer designed to teach you the basics to prep you for group classes. Perfect for anyone that's never done Pilates Reformer or anyone who might want to review the basics. This workshop is equal to the 3 privates needed before being able to take group reformer classes as long as you complete the 6 weeks.

Scrambler Obstacle Training Camp with Adriana Ferns

Prepare for the upcoming season of obstacle training with this 8 week training camp. It will be held at Colt State Park. Adriana will have you running and jumping; along with simulations of the obstacles you will be facing in the race. By being a part of this camp, you will receive results.

Members that Inspire Us


Kathleen Lowe has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since June of 2004. The main reason she joined was to be healthy and to stay in shape. To keep up with her goal, Kathleen has trained with Erin for 2 1/2 years and after having a total knee replacement, she realized the importance of staying active. Her favorite classes to take are Spin and Group Power! When Kathleen is not at the gym, she enjoys reading and walking. Congratulations Kathleen!
 
Joe Werbicki has been a member at Swansea Total Fitness since April 2013. He joined with the goal of losing weight and getting into the best possible shape for his age. He is 75 years old, lives in Swansea, and has been married for 47 years! Joe walks about five times a week. So far, Joe has lost 20 pounds and is down two pant sizes! Joe really appreciates the help and encouragement from all of the trainers; Craig, Rhonda, Sue, Kevin, and Greg. He is also a Certified Safety Professional who conducts safety training programs and inspections to identify safety hazards. Congratulations Joe! Stay motivated and keep up all of your hard work!
 

Joshua and Zachary Pichette have been members at Seekonk Total Fitness since January 2013. Josh has lost 40 pounds since his freshman year of high school by changing his routine. When coming to the gym he likes to run and lift for strength. Zach has lost 90 pounds since joining Total Fitness and working out has changed his life! He enjoys doing cardio and chest day! It is evident that they work hard together and are committed to reach their goals! Congrats Josh and Zach, all your hard work and commitment to the gym is a motivation for us all!

 

Walter Jones III has been a member at Dartmouth Total Fitness since 2012. He played Basketball in his younger days, but it was time to find a different way to improve his health. Walter says, “I know that the longer you wait, the harder it is to get going!” He enjoys the camaraderie of the midday members and notes that the facility & staff are great too. Walter keeps active to stay healthy for his 3 girls, and to unwind from his work at New Bedford Child & Family Services. His advice to those getting into a fitness routine, “Don’t second guess yourself, if you decide to get healthy, do it!” Thank you, Walter, March’s awesome Member of the Month.
