Town of Swansea Animal Shelter Club Visit

The Town Of Swansea Animal Shelter will be visiting Swansea Total Fitness with a few of their furry friends. They would like to say thank you for all your generous donations. Join us for this fun family event!

Swansea Total Fitness 1st Annual Thanksgiving 5k Run/3k Walk

Join the Total Fitness team this Thanksgiving morning for our 1st Annual Thanksgiving event! All proceeds will go to benefit Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Entry fee prior to Nov 25th is $25, $30 day of race. All registered runners/walkers will receive a t-shirt. Registration forms will be available at the front desk of all Total Fitness clubs or click here to register online.

Fitness Revival with Dawn CasellaFitness Revival with Dawn Casella

Are you sick of going through the circuit #1-10 every week? Do you want to do more but think group classes will be too much for you? Do you enjoy working out with others of the same fitness level as you? Have you been away for a while and need a jump start? Fitness Revival is designed to step up your workout by incorporating basic strength training and cardiovascular training. Nutrition and proper stretching technique will also be incorporated into the 6 week training program. This class will guide you through the steps to get to the next level of fitness. Group training is designed as a more affordable way to get the training you need to progress your workout safely (min. 3 max. 6 participants).

TRX Suspension Training with Adriana Ferns

Break out from your old routine and join us for this 8 week TRX Suspension Training workshop - the bodyweight exercise that trains your body for how you move in life. Adriana will challenge you each time while keeping this program for all levels. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Fall Into Fitness with Dawn Casella

This 8 week workshop will provide participants with fitness and nutrition education. The first 2 weeks each participant will receive a 60 minute personal training session to assess their current fitness level and to create a workout, for outside the workshop. Participants will also be given a strict diet based on clean healthy eating. The remaining 6 weeks will be group training circuit workouts that will have multiple levels, to be suitable for everyone. You will be given homework to be turned in at the end of each week for Dawn to review. The last week will consist of a 30 minute personal training session for the final fitness assessment . (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Sunrise Yoga with Leanne Mitchell

Come join Leanne in saluting the sun in the early hours of the day. Yoga at sunrise allows the senses to align and heighten with the sun. An early morning practice will leave you feeling rejuvenated and prepared for the day ahead of you. Whether you are trying to kick a coffee obsession or begin a yoga practice, this workshop is a perfect platform for achieving your goals. We will begin with a foundational understanding of yoga as a practice, gradually moving into building personal and diverse self-practices.

Hurricane Training with Erin Carr

Participants will undertake a 8 week long program that will combine 2 personalized one on one sessions, where participants will learn a training regimen that they can perform on their own once a week along with weekly group training sessions and general nutrition recommendations. Erin uses Martin Rooney's Hurricane Training format that incorporates sprint training along with bodyweight and free weight exercises to achieve a metabolic training effect that will have her participants burning calories long after their session has ended. Erin tailors every workout to each client's need, modifying for all levels of exercisers. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Total Fitness for Women with Stacia Abdow

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Stacia Abdow. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from your trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Stacia will provide each participant with written workouts to follow outside training times, nutrition guidance for pre and post workout meals, and biweekly weigh ins and measurements to keep your progress on track. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Turkey Trot Couch-to-5K Training with Sue Adams

Sue Adams will be holding a Couch-to-5K 8-week training workshop to prepare for the Swansea Total Fitness First Annual Turkey Trot 5K. Workshop will include team runs, running plans, and nutritional guidance. Participating in this workshop will also grant you FREE entry into the 5K and provide you with a Swansea Total Fitness t-shirt for race day. Race day will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 27th. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Friday @ 9:30am - 10:30am, Oct 3rd - Nov 21st

Team Training with Chris Raymond

Workshop is meant to challenge its participants to work together to accomplish a common goal. Individuals will work together to achieve a certain time, repetitions or to move a total weight in a given exercise. Exercises can been and will be scaled to an individual's fitness levels. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Downtown Jingle 5k Training with Jenn Brown

Jenn will prepare a team of novice runners to cross the Downtown Jingle 5k finish line on Sunday December 14, 2014. This 6 week program is designed to properly target the muscle groups needed for running; including stretching, strength training, attention to stride, foot strike and of course, running...yes, outside! You will build camaraderie with your teammates in addition to achieving a goal you perhaps thought was out of your reach. You can do this! (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Train Insane for the Holidays with Lizzie Newton

This group training will take participants on an 8 week journey to accomplish goals during the yummiest part of the year. Measurements will be taken at the beginning, middle and end of this workshop to track personal progress. Participants should expect a high intensity workshop combining traditional weight training with function movements as well as intervals cardio drills. Keeping the body guessing with each workout will make every workout different while targeting all muscle groups. Working as a team with the same goal; to stay fit and get fitter will keep everyone motivated! (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Head Start with Chris Raymond

Get a Head Start on those New Years resolutions by keeping the Holiday weight off due to the lack of time, hoilday parties and the last minute shopping. This group training is aimed to leave you in full exhaustion to compensate for missed workouts. Emphasis on strength and cardio based workouts to give a "Guilt Free" Holiday season full of fun and a more confident you. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Members that Inspire Us


Dennis and Jill Doyon joined Bristol Total Fitness in October of 2008. They enjoy taking spin class together, and have been for years. While Jill likes to take other group fitness classes with her friends, Dennis does his own workouts. When they aren’t exercising they both like to listen to music and entertain friends. Since they live in downtown Bristol, they love being by the water and going to the beach. This is a special month for Dennis and Jill, aside from being our members of the month, they will also be celebrating their 31 year anniversary! Congratulations to Dennis and Jill Doyon and Happy Anniversary!

 

Chelsea daSilva joined Swansea Total Fitness in April 2014. Immediately after joining, she started personal training with Rhonda Goldman three times a week. Together, they came up with a goal for her to lose 35 pounds. Having a trainer kept Chelsea committed to her goal and to the gym. In addition to training, Chelsea began coming in 3-4 times a week on her own. By the beginning of September, Chelsea lost 31 pounds! Chelsea no longer feels like she comes to the gym because she has to, she comes because she wants to. Chelsea, you are an inspiration to us. Keep up all of your hard work, and never stop reaching for more. Congratulations!!

 

Norah Cross has been a member at Seekonk Total Fitness since January 2014. What keeps her motivated to keep coming every week is having her physical health; she feels best when she is mentally and physically strong. She has always been active since she was young but with help from trainer Kevin Levesque she feels even stronger than she did before! Kevin has motivated her to love things that she always resisted and found too challenging. Since joining Total Fitness Norah has become a lot stronger and her consistency is beyond impressive. Keep up all your hard work Norah, we are inspired!  

 

Joe Franco joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in March of 2012. He has always made fitness a big part of his life, working out sometimes twice a day! Joe likes to break up his workouts training one muscle group per day and attends the gym 6 days a week. “A bad day at the gym is still a good day, never give up!” Joe knows it doesn’t get any easier as we get older and values the importance of maintaining a regular fitness program. Outside of the gym, Joe participates in road races, most recently the Fairhaven Father’s Day 10K. Thank you Joe for your positive outlook and commitment to fitness. We are proud to call you member of the month.
