Free Body Sculpt Classes At Seekonk Total Fitness To Benefit Seekonk Human Services
Seekonk, MA, August 26, 2011– Seekonk Total Fitness announced today they will be offering their 6:30 pm Wednesday night Body Sculpt class, for the month of September, for free to benefit Seekonk Human Services. This class is free and open to the public with a donation of household items or toiletries.
Items needed: Toothpaste, Shampoo, Bath Soap, Napkins, Dish Soap, Paper Towels, Town Garbage Bags, Toilet Paper, Diapers and Laundry Detergent.
“Local Seekonk families and individuals are struggling like the rest of the country. Household items and toiletries are what many of us consider necessities but are not covered by food stamps. Total Fitness Clubs Winter Weight Loss Challenge Winners Announced and Participants Drop Over Half a Ton
Swansea, MA, April 08, 2011 -- Total Fitness Clubs (TFC) today announced the winners of the “You Choose To Lose” Weight Loss Challenge. The 10-week challenge ran from January 23 – April 3, 2011. 46 participants from the five competing TFC teams lost a combined 1167.4 pounds and the average weight loss for individuals was 25.4 pounds or 12.63%.
Participants in the challenge had the common goal to lose 20 or more pounds and be healthier, but the inspiration for each was varied. One woman has her wedding five days after the final weigh in, one is looking for professional advancement and some are trying to better manage diabetes and other health-related issues.
“We are proud of all the accomplishments of all the Winners and participants. Each Challenger met many of their personal health and wellness goals and are walking away armed with the knowledge and habits for a healthier lifestyle,” said Walter Medeiros, Personal Training Director, Total Fitness Clubs.

Bristol Total Fitness to Host Free Group Exercise Class to Benefit the East Bay Food Pantry
Bristol, RI, March 09, 2011 -- Total Fitness Clubs (TFC) announced today they will be hosting a free group exercise class “Spring and Shred Ahead” on Sunday, March 13th 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at Bristol Total Fitness, to benefit the East Bay Food Pantry.
“Spring and Shred Ahead” is a 2-hour “super class” that will be led by four of Bristol Total Fitness’s group exercise instructors; Bobbi Jarvis, Lara Hakeem, Angie Jennings and Erin Ward. This class is free and open to the public. It’s suggested that attendees bring water for themselves and a canned food donation for the East Bay Food Pantry.
“March is National Nutrition Month and this is a great way for us to provide nutrition for our local community,” said Erin Ward, Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor, Bristol Total Fitness. “Plus, you’ll get a really amazing workout - a chance to check out different classes and the instructors teaching styles and maybe even find out if there’s one class you’ll want to stick with.”

Total Fitness Clubs 5th Year Hosting American Cancer Society’s Spin For Hope™ in Bristol
Bristol, RI, February 11, 2011 --Total Fitness Clubs (TFC), today announced they will be hosting The American Cancer Society’s 6th annual Spin For Hope™ on Sunday, March 6, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The event will be held at their Bristol, RI location, Bristol Total Fitness (BTF). All funds raised support the American Cancer Society and its mission to eliminate cancer as a major public health threat.
Spin For Hope™ is a three hour indoor cycling fundraising event to benefit cancer research, education, advocacy, and services. Participants can spin as a one-person team, for all three hours, or form a team, share the bike and split up the time.
TFC Spin For Hope™ Event Highlights:
• So far this year, TFC has raised $4,655.01 with 20 participants. 34 additional spots are still available.
• TFC was the top fundraising club in R.I. two years in a row has been in the top 10 for N.E. since they started hosting this event in 2007
• To date TFC has raised over $75,000.

Total Fitness Clubs 2010 Fall Fitness Challenge Winners & Results
Swansea, MA, December 3, 2010 – Total Fitness Clubs today announced the results from their 2010 Fall Fitness Challenge, a 10-week health & fitness competition. Overall results included a combined 4-club weight loss of 784 pounds, an average of over 20lbs per person. This is the 8th Fitness Challenge Total Fitness Clubs has offered and participating members, both men and women, have lost an average of 14% body weight, 30-50 pounds (healthy and maintained).
Four Fitness Challenge Teams consisted of 37 club members from Bristol Total Fitness, Swansea Total Fitness, Seekonk Total Fitness and Dartmouth Total Fitness. Teams competed against each other to shed pounds and body fat with the help of personal trainers/coaches. Fitness Challenge scores were based on a combination of performance and participation: gym attendance, food journal entries, group exercise class attendance, weight loss % and team challenge attendance.
“We are proud of all the accomplishments of all the Winners and participants – everyone involved achieved meaningful weight loss and increased health benefits.” said Walter Medeiros, Personal Training Director, Total Fitness Clubs. “Our Fitness Challenge is more than just a weight loss competition. It’s an opportunity for our members to achieve health & fitness goals, inspiring themselves and others.”
Participants started the Challenge with an Initial timed one mile during the first week of the challenge which was compared to the one mile timed during the last week of the Challenge which showed participants improved their times by an average of 24%. Other Team Challenges included: kickball, volleyball, boot camp class held at Colt State Park, 5km road race.
