Total Fitness Pet Drive

For the month of September, Swansea & Seekonk Total Fitness will be collecting items for their pet drive. They will be accepting any pet supplies, toys, blankets, etc. to donate to the Swansea & Seekonk Animal Shelter. There will be a box to put your pet items in, or it can be handed to the front desk.

 

Front Line Ministry for Freedom Care Packages

Bristol Total Fitness and Front Line Ministry for Freedom is teaming up to collect items for our troops. They are a community of people throughout Warren, RI who started this outreach program to help support and encourage our troops overseas. Front Line Ministry collects different products that our troops are in need. For the month of September Bristol Total Fitness will be collecting items. See the front desk for a complete list. Please help us, help our troops!

 

Dartmouth Total Fitness Video Shoot

We will be shooting a video of the facility, equipment and classes at our Dartmouth location Monday, Sept 15th - Wednesday, Sept 17th.

Be prepared if you want to be in it! We respect your wishes for privacy - so If you do not wish to be in the video stop by the front desk (when you come in) and we will inform our videoprapher to edit you out of the footage (it’s that simple).

The gym will be free and open to the public during the duration of the video shoot. Bring your friends and family for a work out or your favorite class!

 

FREE Flu Shot Clinic

CVS will be providing FREE flu shots. They accept all insurance providers and if you currently do not obtain insurance you will be able to receive a shot. If you are interested please sign up at the front desk.

Join us for the Third Annual Katie Brienzo Memorial Walk 

Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2013 at the Our Lady of Angels Feast Grounds, located at 7 Jesse Street, Fairhaven. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles. Participants of all ages are welcome to join in! Registration is only $15, $20 day of the event. All proceeds from this event benefit the consumers of M.O.L.I.F.E., Inc., Katie's favorite charity. Registration begins at 11am and the walk begins at 12 noon, sharp! There will be entertainment, raffles, and fun following the walk. Click here to register online or forms are available at the font desk of Dartmouth Total Fitness.

 

Swansea Total Fitness 1st Annual Turkey Trot

Swansea Total Fitness will be hosting their First Annual Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, November 27th. Stay tuned for more information!

Scrambler Bootcamp with Adriana Ferns

An outdoor boot camp at Colt State Park to prepare for obstacle training leading to the Tough Scrambler. Even if you do not want to compete in the Scrambler, you are still welcome to participate in the workshop. The Tough Scrambler is October 18th. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Total Fitness for Women (Focus on Strength) with Erin Ward 

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Erin Ward. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from you trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Erin will provide each participant with written workouts to follow outside training times, nutrition guidance for pre and post workout meals, and biweekly weigh ins and measurements to keep your progress on track. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Jumpboard Plus with Erin Ward

Total body warm-up and core conditioning using the reformer jumpboard. The class will provide footwork, leg toning, stabilization work for the shoulders, spine, and pelvis, as well as cardiovascular endurance. It wll also include light hand weights at times. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Focus: Your Back with Erin Ward

Say goodbye to back pain! This is a program offered to anyone who either experiences chronic back pain and/or is looking to strengthen the muscles that support the spine. This beginner workshop will focus on five exercises for four weeks. Participants will learn to shift the focus from the front muscles generally overused to the larger muscles of the posterior chain. This will in turn build strength, improve flexibility, correct poor movement patterns, stabilize the spine and improve posture. (Limited to 4 particpants)

Final Girls Club Group Training with Rhonda Goldman

Girls Club Fitness is an 8 week group training program that is under the direction of certified personal trainer, Rhonda Goldman. This program is for women of all fitness levesl who have a desire to challenge themselves, meet new friends, have fun and get a full body workout using TRX, weights, plyometrics, and body resistance.

Turkey Trot Couch-to-5K Training with Sue Adams

Sue Adams will be holding a Couch-to-5K 8-week training workshop to prepare for the Swansea Total Fitness First Annual Turkey Trot 5K. Workshop will include team runs, running plans, and nutritional guidance. Participating in this workshop will also grant you FREE entry into the 5K and provide you with a Swansea Total Fitness t-shirt for race day. Race day will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 27th.

Team Training with Chris Raymond

Workshop is meant to challenge its participants to work together to accomplish a common goal. Individuals will work together to achieve a certain time, repetitions or to move a total weight in a given exercise. Members that Inspire Us


Jim Spevock joined Bristol Total Fitness in September of 2008. He has always been active, but after retiring he wanted to stay on a healthy track. Jim is not much of a cardio fan, but you can see him training hard on the circuit. Having knee surgery 2 weeks ago, Jim was back in the gym 3 days after, trying to get back on track. When he’s not in the gym, he’s either at his dog training facility in Massachusetts, walking his dog outside or reading up on current events. Let’s congratulate Jim on being an inspiration and showing us that nothing can stop us from obtaining a healthy lifestyle.

 

Anthony Dowd joined Swansea Total Fitness in May 2011. Anthony loves coming to the gym; he exercises 7 days a week. Anthony says, "Fitness is a good way to make hard work tangible. The more you put into it the more you get out of it." His goal is to be "better tomorrow than I was yesterday, whether you are at square one or reaching your goal.” Anthony’s favorite muscle group to work out is chest. What he finds most difficult is “leg day", but it's a challenge that he gladly embraces. Anthony says, "There is no such thing as overtraining except for leg day". Congratulations Anthony! Keep up the hard work!

 

Patrick Brickley has been a member of Seekonk Total Fitness since January of 2014. Once he joined the gym he began personal training because he wanted to loose weight and build lean muscle. Patrick says that his greatest accomplishment has been loosing 45lbs. He explains how he wasn’t happy when he was heavier and that’s when he decided to make a change in his lifestyle. The hardest part is sticking to a meal plan; however, he immediately began to see the difference in himself once he changed his diet habits. Patrick now weighs in at 165lbs and his goal is to be 155lbs. Only 10lbs more to go Patrick, keep up the hard work!!

 

Jessica Alberg joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in April 2011. She started training with Erin Carr; together they mapped out a plan that would help Jess acheive her goals: to become healthier, stronger and leaner. She found that getting on a consistent workout schedule and tailoring the Whole30 into her lifestyle was what helped her lose 50lbs. Jess would like to thank Erin for her guidance and keeping her accountable, Genny for her support and partnership, the entire staff at for always being so welcoming and especially Larry for keeping the gym clean! We at DTF look forward to see what the rest of 2014 has in store for her fitness journey!
