Outdoor Tuff Training with Adriana Ferns

Ready to tackle a new and exciting goal this year? This is it! This 8-week outdoor group training will prepare you for your next race. Adriana will simulate obstacle course challenges to test your speed and endurance. The workouts will include: running, jumping, balancing and more along with nutritional guidance. (Weather permitting) (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

TRX Suspension Training with Adriana Ferns

Break out from your old routine and join Adriana for this 8-week program. TRX is a form of suspension training used to perform total body workouts with exercises that engage your core while using your own bodyweight for resistance. Adriana will use TRX to take your resistance training to a new level through functional and dynamic movements, perfect for any age and any fitness level. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

MEMBERS THAT INSPIRE US

Ray Masse joined Bristol Total Fitness in January 2002. He enjoys working out five days a week. Ray's exercise routine includes 45 minutes of cardio on the treadmill followed by upper and lower body weight training. When he started his working out, he lost 15 lbs. and added lean muscle. Ray is fit and feeling great at 76 yrs. old! His health tip: “It’s never too late to start a fitness program, even for advanced-aged folks like me!” and even his doctor has said “keep doing what you’re doing! Ray added how much he likes the gym and the friendly, hassle-free environment. Congratulations, Ray!

Pedal to End Cancer, formerly Spin for Hope, is a three-hour SPINNING event taking place simultaneously at participating health clubs around New England. 100% of the contributions go directly to the American Cancer Society!

This is really just a giant Spin Party for a great cause! With over 80 participants last year, Total Fitness raised almost $66,500 for the ACS through this event!

Kyle Walker joined Bristol Total Fitness in March 2016. As a Fall River firefighter with a rigorous schedule, he trains to maintain his health and fitness. Kyle has been committed to living a clean, healthy lifestyle for many years which has served him well as a proud soldier in the U.S. Army. His health and fitness tips: start by making healthy food choices a lifestyle; get outside and explore nature as you exercise in the great outdoors. “Hike mountains, climb trees, run sandy beaches, swim the open oceans. Team Burpee Challenge

A fitness fundraiser to support The Potter League for Animals. They are located in Middletown, RI and provide shelter and care for lost or unwanted companion animals. The Potter League are committed to enhancing the lives of animals in their care and fostering relationships between the animals and people. Click here for more about their mission.

Burpee Challenge Details: Each Team Burpee competitor will start the challenge on Feb. 1 with a goal of completing 500 burpees by Feb. 28. The 500 count will be split up with a recommended number of burpees completed each day/week. For each $1 collected, each competitor will do an extra burpee above and beyond the 500 count! Our goal is to collect over $500 in donations.

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Space is limited, participants must sign up 1 week in advance and pay for 1/2 of the program to reserve a spot. (Friday - min. 3 max. 6 participants) (Saturday - min. 3 max. 8 participants)

Mike and Alyssa Gaudreau joined Bristol Total Fitness in 2006. They both run and attend the gym daily. Mike, is a dedicated runner, completes 3 miles each day followed by weight training, focusing on 1 body part per day. Alyssa’s routine is running 3 miles in her limited workout time of 30 minutes or doing interval training on the treadmill. Her weight training days incorporate what she learned while working with trainer Erin Ward for several years. Alyssa’s tip for health and fitness: “Find the balance that works for you.” Mike adds: “You can never drink enough water, eat enough vegetables, or sleep enough hours.”

Club Wide Coat Drive

Total Fitness Clubs are teaming up with The United Way in the month of January to help our local families in need. There will be a bin at each club where you can place your gently used or new coats. Join us to help our community stay warm during the winter months. All coats will be donated to local families.

As a Thank You - Every person who donates coats will receive a Gift Card for a Free Protein Shake. Open to the general public.

Totally Fit Kids with Andrea Chase

Kids grades 1-6 will undertake a 6-week group training with exercises and activities that focus on developing stability, mobility, muscular strength, core function, and motor-skill performance. The overall goal is for kids to have fun with fitness and to develop a positive attitude towards regular exercise. Getting kids on the right path toward a long-lasting healthy lifestyle all starts with fundamental movement skills that are learned by participating in any activity that teaches body awareness, balance, and coordination. John Hamblett joined Bristol Total Fitness in September 2001 and works out diligently 5 - 6 days a week. He enjoys creating his own routines centered on weights with some cardio added for good measure. When asked about a “success” story or “bragging rights”, John’s endearing, dry humor sizzles: “I’ve become strong enough to wrestle an alligator, and now travel the East Coast extensively, riding golf courses and swimming pools of the pesky critters.”John’s tip on health & fitness: “No one routine nor one diet is better than any other. A Wish Come True Polar Plunge

TAKE THE PLUNGE...into 2019! A Rhode Island tradition, the Polar Plunge on New Year's Day has raised much-needed funds over the years to help A Wish Come True grant the wishes of children ages 3-18 who live in Rhode Island and areas of Southeastern Massachusetts. Winter Weight Training with Adriana Ferns

Join Adriana for an 8-week program that will focus on different methods of weight training. This low impact training is great for beginners or if you are looking to improve your lifting form and technique. Workout homework will be provided along with weigh-ins (on request). Enjoy a safe and effective workout in a supportive group environment. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Winter Survival with Dawn Casella

Get back on track after the holidays with this 4-week group training for all fitness levels. Workouts are designed to improve your overall health and well-being in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Training sessions incorporate weights, TRX, bands and mat work that can be modified if needed. Participants are assisted in reaching their personal goals in a supportive team atmosphere.
