Club Wide Coat Drive

Total Fitness Clubs are teaming up with The United Way in the month of January to help our local families in need. There will be a bin at each club where you can place your gently used or new coats. Join us to help our community stay warm during the winter months. All coats will be donated to local families.

As a Thank You - Every person who donates coats will receive a Gift Card for a Free Protein Shake. Open to the general public.

Pedal To End Cancer

Pedal to End Cancer, formerly Spin for Hope, is a three-hour SPINNING event taking place simultaneously at participating health clubs around New England. 100% of the contributions go directly to the American Cancer Society!

This is really just a giant Spin Party for a great cause! With over 78 participants last year, Total Fitness raised over $12,000 for the ACS through this event!

Open to all members and the public!

X-Training Plus with James Simmons

This 8-week program is built around the strength and cardiovascular conditioning aspect to building muscle, gaining strength and burning fat. A co-ed program for anyone looking to improve his or her overall fitness and to be pushed out of their comfort zone. Workouts will include many different types of equipment like kettlebells, plyometric boxes, sandbags, rowers, battle ropes and much more. Weekly fitness and nutrition tips will be provided. Total Fitness for Women with Stacia Abdow

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group-training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Stacia Abdow. The program is for women of all fitness levels who have a desire to be the best they can possibly be. Learn how to make your workouts more effective with workouts tailored to your needs and goals. Accountability and support from your trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Stacia will provide each participant with written workouts to follow outside training times, nutrition guidance for pre and post workout meals, and measurements to keep your progress on track. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

MEMBERS THAT INSPIRE US

Jonathan Schwartz has been a member of Dartmouth Total Fitness since April 2015. He attends the gym 3-4 times per week. Jonathan really enjoys his one-on-one sessions with Personal Trainer, James Simmons and attributes his fast recovery from hip replacement surgery, to his consistent training. Jon notes, “Dartmouth Total Fitness has the best Personal Trainers, as gyms I’ve attended in the past made my experience not worthwhile.” He feels DTF has a wonderful sense of community, which makes it much easier to do the work!

Woman of Steel with Walter Medeiros

Join this 8-week progressive strength-training program for women focusing on all aspects of fitness including cardiovascular & muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. Participants will enjoy the camaraderie of working with a group in a fun and encouraging atmosphere to achieve results. Workouts will consist of weight, balance and flexibility training with cardio intervals to focus on core strength. All fitness levels welcome. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Beth Cambra joined Swansea Total Fitness in 2006! She works out 5 days a week including Thursdays 2xs a day – Spin in the AM & Walter’s workshop in the PM. Beth's favorite classes are Michelle’s Spin & Tammy’s Boot Camp. She says with the influx of members from Seekonk brought a new group of people that she has been working out & taking classes with. Since then, Beth feels she is in the best shape of her life. She is stronger, more fit & healthier than she has ever been. Her advice is to find a good group of people to work out with, it can make the challenge that much more fun.

Train Like a Pro with Michael Mullen

This 8-week group training is for anyone from the high school athlete who is looking to get a step up in their competition, to a fantasy football manager who gets frustrated every Sunday and yells at the tv “come on, I could do that”. This class is designed with drills and exercises that the pros and top division 1 athletes do every day. Focusing on speed, agility, and hand-eye coordination, cardio exercises include ladder drills, cone drills, quick feet, medicine balls and more. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

Mathew Dallaire has been a member of Bristol Total Fitness since 2014. He is a firefighter and attends the gym 5 days a week. Matt's exercise routine includes strength training followed by cardio after each workout. He was the recipient of a physical performance award at Air Force Basic Training in the summer of 2014. As a public servant, Matt likes the quote: “Fitness is personal, but it has implications on everyone you serve.” He shared that he enjoys attending BTF, as the gym is always neat and clean; and the staff is so personable and professional. Maryanne & Kim Hayes joined Bristol Total Fitness in June 2019. They both workout 4-5 days a week. Maryanne remarked about how much she enjoys working out with her daughter and how it’s bringing them “super close.” Kim shares her bragging rights, ”I got my Mom to work out and to use weight machines!” With Kim’s encouragement, Maryanne can now complete a full work out, has doubled the amount of weight she lifts and has lost a few pounds. Maryanne says, “Even if it hurts & you don’t want to go to the gym, get out there!” Kim’s fitness tip is to “just have fun” and suggests keeping your workout to 45 mins. at a time.

Join this 8-week progressive strength-training program for women focusing on all aspects of fitness including cardiovascular & muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. Amy Silvia joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in January 2013. She attends the gym 3-5 times per week. Amy enjoys Power Lifting and recently competed in the USPA Rhode Island Power Classic over the summer. She currently holds the state record for her age/weight class! Brandon Andrade joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2018. He attends the gym 5-6 times per week. Weightlifting and playing basketball with friends are some of his favorite things to do in the gym. One of Brandon’s most memorable moments in the gym was when he beat his friend in a “Bench Off’. A quote he is inspired by is Nike’s “Just Do It.” Brandon has worked extremely hard over the last year and has lost 60lbs. Ariana Masi joined Bristol Total Fitness in August 2014. She works out 6 days a week, and enjoys weight training especially leg day! Ariana’s fitness journey began on June 2011 when she was 16 yrs. old. She has lost 140 lbs and says that going to the gym consistently has helped her maintain the weight loss, made her feel stronger and more confident. Ariana's fitness tip is to continue to work hard “because hard work pays off!” She reminds us that change doesn’t happen overnight, so don’t get discouraged. “Once you believe in yourself, anything is possible. Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Alex Joyal joined Swansea Total Fitness in 2012. He works out 5-6 days a week and loves to train chest and arms. In August 2019, Alex completed his first NPC Patriot Cup bodybuilding competition. He placed second in novice, open bodybuilding, and novice classic physique. Alex shares the importance of dieting, and how beneficial it is in order to gain results. “It takes a long time to achieve the body you want. It’s important to not get discouraged and to stick with your training and dieting routine”. Alex is planning on competing for a second time in April 2020. Awesome job, Alex!
