Rhode Island Gyms Given Green Light To Open!

We’d like to thank all our staff and members for your support, complying with our new safety protocols, and making our re-opening a success!

We were very excited to re-open Bristol Total Fitness on Monday, June 1st, and welcome back all our amazing members and staff! We had been working diligently behind the scenes with cleaning protocols and facility improvements to ensure that when you come back you stay healthy and safe.

We are ready to open Swansea & Dartmouth as soon as Massachusetts permits. As of 6/12/20 Gyms are listed in phase 3 for MA. Governor Baker is releasing phase 2 guidelines on 6/6/20 so we have a ways to go before opening. Stay informed by checking FB pages for Dartmouth and Swansea re-opening dates.

Independence Park Free Low Impact HIIT Class with Ruth Raposa

Fun, challenging low-impact HIIT class using bodyweight only. It focuses on working all parts of the body with an emphasis on core and glutes. It combines strength, cardio and flexibility into one workout. You can work at your own pace and level of intensity. Limited to 15 participants.

Equipment: yoga mat, towel and water bottle

Wednesday @ 5:45am – 6:45am, Jun 17th – Jul 8th

Location: Independence Park, Bristol

9th Annual Free Boot Camp at Independence Park with Adriana Ferns

Bristol Total Fitness and Bristol Parks and Recreation are teaming up to create a healthier community. Join Adriana for this free boot camp, open to the public. Bring your friends and family! Enjoy the fresh outdoors and downtown Bristol! Limited to 15 participants.

Equipment: yoga mat, towel and water bottle

Saturday @ 7am – 8am, Jun 20th – Sep 26th

Location: Independence Park, Bristol

Independence Park Free Summertime Sweat Sesh with Susan Gibeau

This workout will consist of bodyweight work, Tabata, HIIT and good old Calisthenics. Modifications can be made for most fitness levels. Limited to 15 participants.

COVID-19 Blog Update

The Total Fitness team has been working hard to prepare for our member's return. The safety of our members and team is most important to us. Total Fitness did a great deal of research and planning for our members to feel safe with new safety and cleanliness protocols along with opening in a phased approach. Pedal to End Cancer Thank You!

Total donations from our annual Total Fitness Clubs fundraiser Pedal to End Cancer- 63 participants raised $16,761 for the American Cancer Society through this year's event! We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause. We're especially proud of Total Fitness Member, Lilly McCaughey who was the Top 'Pedal to End Cancer 2020' Fundraiser in all of New England, for raising $1,695!"

Covid-19 Club Information & Updates

We are very excited to re-open Swansea Total Fitness & Dartmouth Total Fitness on July 6th and welcoming back all our amazing members and staff! We’ve been working diligently behind the scenes with cleaning protocols and facility improvements to ensure that when you come back you stay healthy and safe.

Massachusetts Gyms Given Green Light To Open!


We are very excited to re-open Swansea Total Fitness and welcome back all our amazing members and staff! We've been working diligently behind the scenes with cleaning protocols and facility improvements to ensure that when you come back you stay healthy and safe.

We've Been Busy Preparing to Open:
  1. Swansea Total Fitness has been completely sanitized the gym from floor to ceiling and implemented new cleaning protocols.
  2. We've been painting, landscaping, fixing equipment etc.
  3. We've added additional sanitizing stations throughout the club.
  4. We've hired additional cleaning staff.
  5. We've added signage to remind Members (and Staff) about social distancing.
  6. We've created policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our Staff and Members.
  7. Equipment has been either moved or taken off the floor to meet state social distancing guidelines.
Temporary Hours:
  • M-F 5:00 am - 8:00 pm
  • Sat 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Sun 7:30 am - 1:00 pm
Please familiarize yourself with the Following Protocols. These will be enforced at all times for your, and our staff's, safety:

We'd like to thank all our staff and members in advance for being mindful, patient and your willingness to comply with our Covid-19 protocols (mandated by the state). Things will be a little different from the last time you were at Swansea Total Fitness  - here's what you can expect:
  • Before You Enter The Gym:  
    • Health Screen Check at the door to the gym. Please stay home if you have a temperature above 100.4 or don't feel well.
    • Make sure to have your mask on.
    • Sanitize your hands just before entering and leaving the gym (sanitizer will be provided).
  • Masks & Social Distancing:  
    • Masks are required in the gym unless you are on a treadmill in the first row or if you can achieve a 14' distance (6' social distancing does require masks).
    • Staff will be wearing face masks and practicing social distancing.
  • Personal Equipment & Cleaning Products: Yoga mats are permitted. Your cleaning products are NOT permitted (can destroy equipment).
  • Available for Use: Cardio equipment, weight machines, free weights, stretching area, personal training and small group training. Bathrooms are available for use.
  • Temporarily Unavailable: Water fountains (bring your own water or it will be available for purchase), shakes, sauna/steam room, group exercise classes, spinning and babysitting.
  • Sanitizing: Members are asked to wipe down equipment before and after each use (staff will be cleaning throughout the day and we will be doing deep cleaning and disinfecting at night).

As we navigate these most uncertain times Total Fitness hopes that you and your family are healthy and well. The Staff and Management appreciate your patience and understanding as we anxiously await what our next step is to re-open. Rest assured Total Fitness Clubs will not be billing any membership dues until we are able to open.
