Summer Survival with Dawn Casella

Summer is here and it's time for you to look your best! For 4 weeks Dawn will educate you on how to sculpt and define your body with overall fitness conditioning. This group training will keep you accountable with weekly weigh-ins along with healthy living tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. All levels of fitness welcome. (min. 3 max. 6 participants)

MEMBERS THAT INSPIRE US

Arthur Lawrence joined Bristol Total Fitness in December 2009. He is committed to working out of 3-4 times per week. Nine years ago, Arthur decided to focus on his health and fitness. He joined the gym, started working with a nutritionist at Evolution Nutrition and lost 45 lbs. Arther has maintained terrific health and fitness. He recommends preparing a normal-size plate of food, then splitting it in half and saving that other half for the next meal. Arthur follows this routine with his meals, and it has worked successfully for both losing the weight and keeping it off. His fitness tip: “Strive each day to maintain your health and fitness.”

Total Fitness for Women is an 8-week group-training program under the supervision of our certified personal trainer, Stacia Abdow. Accountability and support from your trainer and group will help you reach your goals. Karen Dee joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in September 2011. She attends the gym 4-5 times per week. Fitness has been a part of Karen's life for over 30 years, only taking time off for the birth of her children and a knee surgery! She looks forward to her weekly sessions with Personal Trainer, Stacia Abdow. Karen says, “Working out with my trainer keeps me on track and Stacia pushes me to try things I would never attempt on my own.” She loves that the staff at DTF are always friendly and that all the members eventually become friends. Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Space is limited, participants must sign up 1 week in advance and pay for 1/2 of the program to reserve a spot. (Friday - min. 3 max. 6 participants) (Saturday - min. 3 max. 8 participants)

Tracy Koutros joined Swansea Total Fitness in 2012. She attends the gym 5 times a week and trains with Laurie Roderick. Tracy just recently retired from the E. Providence Police Department, after 31 years. She has managed to maintain her busy lifestyle while losing 37 lbs and 5 sizes. Tracy reminds others to “not worry too much about the scale”, she knows it is easier said than done. She encourages others to focus on themselves and to not dwell on the success of others, your journey is your own. Tracy is happy she stuck with her routine and is looking forward to her upcoming Tough Mudder in Boston. Congratulations!

Wishin' On A Cure Boot Camp

Join Personal Trainer, Carol Ann Souza for this fun charity event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. A suggested donation of $10. 100% of donations go to the Relay for Life. All levels of fitness are welcome and this event is open to the public.

Weight Loss Clinic with Walter Medeiros

Participants will undertake a 10-week program that will combine personalized dietary guidelines for each individual along with a weekly group training session which will help build camaraderie amongst participants which will help you overcome many obstacles. Also included, weekly weigh-ins followed by a “group therapy” session to ultimately lose as much weight safely as well as to allow for the greatest amount of success to keep the weight off.

Classes are based on fitness level, participants must contact Walter prior to the program at waltermedeiros@totalfitnessclubs.com. Men of Iron with Walter Medeiros

This 8-week results driven strength training program for men focuses on total body fitness. MEMBERS THAT INSPIRE US

Madeline Toste joined Swansea Total Fitness in 2014. In her mid-40’s she began working out because she genuinely enjoyed it. In May of 2014, Madeline was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Her world as she knew it changed and there was no more time for the gym. In January of 2017, Madeline decided that enough was enough and she was ready to make fitness changes and began to train with Walter Medeiros. He has been her motivation to get her life back to pre-cancer days. Madeline states: “I will not accept: ‘you know, you are getting older’ as a reason for not being the best I can be”. Congratulations!

Chris DaSilva joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in February 2011. He attends the gym 3-4 times per week. The most rewarding part of his routine is controlling his diet. The physical gains he’s acquired since altering his eating habits have come much quicker. Chris is in better shape now than he was ten years ago, due to his dedication to fitness and proper nutrition. A quote that helps him through leg day especially, is “The stronger the tree trunk, the stronger the tree!” Chris believes that staying motivated is easier when you pick a goal that has nothing to do with personal appearance. Nicole Clement joined Bristol Total Fitness in April 2018. She has been working out 5-6 days per week for many months in preparation for her first bikini fitness competition. Nicole just took two 1st place finishes and one 3rd place finish in her very first competition! Her fitness advice: “trust the process, get a coach, and there are vegan options for meeting your protein needs!” Nicole shared her thoughts about the fitness journey: “There will be days you don’t want to go (to the gym), go anyway! Rock Your Resolution with Stacia Abdow

Stacia’s weight-loss challenge is an 8-week program to keep participants accountable to their New Year's Resolutions. The workout will be designed to be high-intensity interval training. Melissa Pavao joined Dartmouth Total Fitness in July 2017. She attends the gym 2-3 times per week and enjoys Wendy’s Abs Express class along with personal training with Erica Morency, and Teeana Rivera. Melissa is seeing great results and is pushing herself to levels she didn’t think she could reach! Her fitness tip is “Be patient, stay positive, results will come if you stay committed!” Working out has increased Melissa's self-confidence along with her energy levels. She would like to give a shout out to Daycare Staff, Brittnie and Michayla, who are always wonderful with her daughter which makes her at ease while working out!

Pedal To End Cancer - Thank You!

Total donations from our annual Total Fitness Clubs fundraiser Pedal to End Cancer- 78 participants raised over $12,000 for the American Cancer Society through this year's event! We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause. We're especially proud of Total Fitness Member, Linda Manchester who was the Top 'Pedal to End Cancer 2018' Fundraiser in all of New England, for raising $975.00!"

Total Fitness is teaming up with Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River for a pet supplies drive. We will be collecting pet supplies such as cleaning products, office supplies, etc. to donate to animals in need. Any donations can be put in our box located in the foyer. Participants will enjoy the camaraderie of working with a group in a fun and encouraging atmosphere to achieve results. Chris Souza joined Swansea Total Fitness in August of 2016. Her favorite part of the week is personal training with Jim Nolan and taking group exercise classes. "Each has something different to offer like intense work in Warrior Strength, endurance in Group Power, balance in Stability Ball, and challenging moves in Barre class". Chris has successfully lost 14lbs and her strength and stamina have improved dramatically. Chris would like to thank Jim for his supportive attitude that helps her push herself. "If you hear a woman growling on the floor, it’s probably me and it’s thanks to Jim that I’m working so hard".

Kevin Faria joined Swansea Total Fitness in January 2017. He likes to work out five times a week and he enjoys training bi’s and tri’s. Since joining, Kevin has been able to lose 20 pounds and gain muscle. He claims that diet is extremely important and involved in 80% of the process. “You can’t train away a bad diet”. Kevin believes that people make time for what they feel is important, and make excuses for the things they feel are not. He enjoys working out at SWTF because the staff is great and the gym is clean. Keep up the awesome work, Kevin!!
